My #1 Choice for Research paper
One Topic for my research paper would be. "how to create a ceramics piece" I feel like the would be the best choice for me because I am an Art Major focusing more towards ceramics. I've always loved working with clay, and with this paper would not only help me learn more about this subject but also show others how to work with it.

The big problem with your first choice of topic is that it is a "how-to" piece, which you aren't supposed to do for this kind of paper.
